Call for Nominations: National Association of Social Workers- NYC Chapter Leadership Awards Gala 2020

The National Association of Social Workers- New York City Chapter (NASW-NYC), hosts the Annual Leadership Awards Gala to recognize social workers across the city who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their respective fields, advocate for the improvement of social and human conditions, and are dedicated to upholding the NASW Code of Ethics in both their personal and professional lives. We also honor and recognize individuals, schools of social work, and organizations whose work, mission, and values align with our core values of social justice and equity.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
• Date of the Leadership Awards Dinner is Thursday, March 19, 2020.
• The deadline for nominations is FRIDAY, JANUARY 3, 2020.

SELECTION CRITERIA (INDIVIDUAL NOMINEES)
•Social Work Degree from and accredited school of social work (Bachelors or Master of Social Work)
•Minimum of three (3) years working experience post degree
•Demonstrated commitment to social justice, advocacy, and empowerment through the lens of race, diversity, and intersectionality in practice, policy, and research.
•Must be a NASW-NYC member in good standing

SELECTION CRITERIA (SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR)
•Demonstrated commitment to social justice, advocacy, and empowerment through the lens of race, diversity, and intersectionality in practice, policy, and research
•Commitment to employing and promoting social workers within the organization
•Supportive of personal and professional development needs of social workers within their agency/organization
•Must be a NYC based organization

SELECTION CRITERIA (SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK OF THE YEAR)
•NYC based or must have campus within the 5 boroughs of NYC if co-located
•Commitment to social justice through pedagogy, advocacy, and practice through actively addressing these needs within their community
•Application of theory and practice through engagement of real-world experiences with students and faculty
•Demonstrated focus on empowerment through the lens of race, diversity, and intersectionality
•Consistently upholds the NASW Code of Ethics
